Name: Vincent Phantomhive
Door: Left - In midnight pangs when I was damned.
Apartment: 062-A

Canon: Black Butler
Canon Point: After the initial Miracle of the Sapphires (i.e. when he is a teenager in school).

Age: 19
Appearance: A cheeky teenager.

History: I have finally attained a faithful German dog.
Personality: Leader

Vincent, as the only son of Phantomhive, has been raised to stand at the head of the noble house. He has also, secretly, been trained to do as Her Majesty requires (which can easily include assassination/murder/the destruction of various properties and so forth). Even the name he was given, Vincent, means "to conquer". Therefore, while he might be a teenager in the eyes of the world, he is actually a dangerous weapon that Queen Victoria will no doubt wield after he has graduated from Weston College.

Hubris

He is proud of himself - and perhaps he has a right to be - yet that pride can easily get under the skin of others. He makes more enemies than necessary by being a nuisance, however he enjoys the practice greatly. Vincent's hubris comes in many forms; usually he displays it by playing games on the people he likes, tying them to him somehow so that they can't break free. This is how he is beginning to build his family - and his army - around him. Those who owe him can be used later for various tasks. How can they say no, after all, when they are bound by their word?

Vincent's hubris originates from his upbringing. He is - was - the beloved child of Claudia Phantomhive (before her death when he was only 15) and he has never wanted for anything. In her absence, he has stepped into her dainty shoes smoothly, raising himself to the level of the nobles who think to oppose him (or Her Majesty). He will prove himself to be a capable opponent and that, in turn, will increase his confidence in himself. In time, that will, partially, lead to his downfall. The enemies that murder him and his wife somehow slip by his notice. Perhaps he thought too little of them or perhaps they too have connections with the supernatural (i.e. Grim Reapers, Demons etc.). Either way, he was not prepared and the manor was ill protected.

Immaturity

Maturity will not pay Vincent Phantomhive a call. Even into his twenties and thirties, he will be an immature brat of a man. But that is how he prefers it. What is life without games and pranks and laughter? Even when he is reminded of his post - as he no doubt is frequently - he shrugs it off, determined to handle life as he chooses, the consequences be damned.

He has lost his mother, Claudia, and his sister, lovingly nicknamed Franny, will forge her way forward with as much stubbornness and zeal as he possesses (though she is far maturer than him). That leaves Vincent quite alone; he must build his family, his army around him and be prepared for whatever is asked of him. In his eyes, he can either obsess and worry overmuch about the path ahead of him or he can have fun. Of course he chooses the latter! He was born for this special role (i.e. Earl of Phantomhive) and he will take advantage of all it has to offer. If difficulties arise, he will deal with them then - not worry about them beforehand.

Callous

When one is raised to be a weapon - or a guard-dog - being overly empathetic/emotional just won't do. Vincent has no trouble stepping on or over the bodies of his victims and he doesn't lose any sleep over them either. They simply lost the game - and that same ideology keeps him from mourning the loss of his servants too (whom are hand-picked for their various skills). Perhaps his callousness is a survival technique or maybe he just doesn't care. It's difficult to tell with Vincent. This is war for him, for those who serve him, and he will employ every weapon in his arsenal if an opponent proves vicious enough. The guard-dog cannot let trespassers - and worse - get away.

Powers and Abilities: He is a regular man thus far, though very witty/crafty and brutal when it comes to carrying out Her Majesty's orders.
Inventory: A book on Latin poetry, a white owl to delivery messages, the ring of Phantomhive.

Samples: TDM & Entry (If you want something more current, I can provide it.)
